Buying a Property
Do you want to make that decision to purchase a property from your hard-earned savings? Here are some tips on how to go about it;
- Beware of con men out there.
- For your own comfort, buy your property through a registered Estate agent who is registered with the Estate Agents Council. Registered agents go through a process of vetting and they are accountable for all their transactions.
- Ensure that you view the property that you are buying, if possible meet the seller. Get to be familiar with the paperwork associated with the property, whether it’s a title deed, share certificate, sectional title, cession certificate, get to see a copy of it. You just need to verify.
- Pay your money into a trust account preferably held by your estate agent or your conveyancer. Be alert at all times.
- Ensure that title is transferred to you in a reasonable space of time. (Within a month title should have passed to you.)
- Enjoy the new property!!
